Sriya Burra is an undergraduate at the University of California, Davis pursuing a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Environmental Toxicology. She is passionate about understanding the psychological experiences of queer adolescents and how biological, social, and environmental factors interact to shape mental health outcomes. Her research goal is to investigate how the coming out experience impacts future well-being, including how factors such as timing, social support, cultural context, and experiences of acceptance or stigma influence long-term mental health. She plans to attend medical school and pursue a career in psychiatry, where she hopes to integrate research and clinical practice to better support LGBTQ+ patients. In her free time, Sriya enjoys collecting ladybug-themed items, drawing, and taking walks in the Arboretum.
